ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College middle hitter Celia Gagnon (Troy, NY/Ichabod Crane), a graduate student, was selected the Empire8 Conference Co-Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, October 16.
Gagnon totaled 30 kills, 4.29 per-set, on .400 hitting, and five aces across a pair of E8 contests.
She opened the weekend with 12 kills on .455 hitting and four aces on Friday night vs. Elmira. With the dozen kills against the Soaring Eagles, Gagnon became just the 18th RSC player to surpass 500 career kills.
The middle hitter followed up that performance by establishing a season-high with 18 kills on .364 hitting on Saturday vs. Alfred. She currently ranks 17th in program records with 523 career kills.
RSC (4-19/1-6 E8) plays its final six contests of the fall on the road. The Gators begin the stretch on Friday at Utica. The E8 contest is set to begin at 6:00 pm.
