NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Russell Sage College senior outside hitter Emma Parkington (Dalton, MA/Wahconah Regional) recorded a career-high 23 kills, on .203 hitting, in tonight's 3-2 (22-25, 25-21, 18-25, 25-19, 13-15) loss at MCLA. The co-captain, who totaled four blocks and three service aces, added 12 digs for her eighth double-double of the season. Parkington, now with 18 career double-doubles, has averaged 3.76 kills per-set across the past four matches.
Senior middle hitter Celia Gagnon (Troy, NY/Ichabod Crane) achieved the first double-double of her career, tallying 11 kills and 11 digs. Sophomore middle hitter Monalissa Carius (Hudson, NY/Hudson) contributed seven kills and six blocks, both season-bests, while sophomore right side Statia Walker (Schodack, NY/Maple Hill) dished out 44 assists. Junior defensive specialist Elaina Moisidis (Albany, NY/Albany), who was named the Empire 8 Conference Co-Player of the Week on Monday, elevated 26 MCLA attacks.
Freshman right side Chloie Garber topped the Trailblazers with 17 kills and 11 digs. Senior middle hitter Reagan Scattergood registered 11 kills and 25 digs for MCLA (8-8).
Looking ahead, Sage (5-17) has an open weekend. The Gators return to the court on Wednesday vs. Hartwick. The "Senior Night" contest is slated to begin at 6:00 pm. MCLA hosts Salem State on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
