Parkington Finishes with a Double-Double

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. –  Russell Sage College senior outside hitter Emma Parkington (Dalton, MA/Wahconah Regional) finished her career with a double-double of 13 kills and 11 digs in this morning's 3-1 loss to SUNY Potsdam. The co-captain, who had 20 double-doubles in her time as a Gator, will graduate with 756 career kills, eighth-most by a RSC player.

The Gators kicked off the second day of action at the Skidmore Tournament by falling to Bard 3-1.

Senior middle hitter Celia Gagnon (Troy, NY/Ichabod Crane) and Parkington topped RSC with nine kills apiece. Gagnon hit .389 and served up three aces, while Parkington tallied 11 digs.

Junior defensive specialist Elaina Moisidis (Albany, NY/Albany), the Empire 8 Conference leader in digs and digs per-set, recorded 18 digs, while sophomore right side Statia Walker (Schodack, NY/Maple Hill) dished out 23 assists.

Sophomore right side Laurel Edwards provided Bard (8-16) a double-double of 17 kills and 11 digs.

In the season finale vs. the Bears, Gagnon totaled six kills and three aces, while Walker contributed 26 assists and six digs.  Moisidis elevated 14 SUNY Potsdam (8-14) attacks.

Notes: Sage (6-22) concluded the fall by playing eight of its final nine matches on the road…Moisidis, who recorded the 500th dig of her career on Saturday, September 11 at SUNY New Paltz, led the E8 with 492 digs, 4.82 digs per-set...She is currently 19th in program records with 869 career digs...Parkington and Gagnon began the day among the E8 leaders in points per-set…Parkington was fifth 3.38 pps, while Gagnon was seventh at 3.11 pps...Parkington, who was fourth in the conference with 2.86 kills per-set, recorded her 500th career kill on Saturday, September 11 at SUNY New Paltz…The co-captain, who will graduate eighth in program records with 755 career kills, had 20 career double-doubles, ten of which came this season…Walker contributed 12 double-doubles this fall.
