Gators Upended 3-0 by Oswego State

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. –  Russell Sage College began its weekend at the Skidmore Tournament by falling to Oswego State 3-0 tonight. The Gators were upended by scores of 25-22, 25-21, 25-16. 

Senior outside hitter Emma Parkington (Dalton, MA/Wahconah Regional) led RSC with seven kills and four aces, while senior middle hitter Celia Gagnon (Troy, NY/Ichabod Crane) (above) added five kills and three aces.

Sophomore right side Statia Walker (Schodack, NY/Maple Hill) recorded 15 assists and nine digs, while junior defensive specialist Elaina Moisidis (Albany, NY/Albany), the Empire 8 Conference leader in digs and digs per-set, elevated 12 Oswego attacks.

Sophomore middle hitters Georgia Farry and Grace Taylor registered 10 kills each to lead Oswego State (10-13)

The Gators cap their season with a pair of matches tomorrow at the Skidmore Tournament. Sage (6-20) plays Bard at 9:00 am and SUNY Potsdam at 11:00 am.


Notes: Sage concludes its season by playing eight of its final nine matches on the road…Moisidis, who registered her 500th career dig on Saturday, September 11 at SUNY New Paltz, tops the E8 with 460 digs…She leads the conference with 4.89 digs per-set...The RSC libero currently has 837 digs in her time as a Gator…Parkington and Gagnon began the week among the E8 leaders in points per-set…Parkington was fifth 3.38 pps, while Gagnon was seventh at 3.11 pps...Parkington, who was fourth in the conference with 2.86 kills per-set, recorded her 500th career kill on Saturday, September 11 at SUNY New Paltz…The co-captain, currently eighth in program records with 733 career kills, has 19 career double-doubles, nine of which came this season…Walker has contributed 12 double-doubles this fall.
