Sage rallies but it's not enough as they fall to WNEU

Springfield, MA—The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team travelled to Massachusetts to take on Western New England University in a non-conference match. The Golden Bears held a 2-0 lead before the Gators took the third set and nearly forced a fifth set. NWEU triumphed 3-1 (SAGE 25-22, 25-11, 17-25, 26-24) to improve to 4-5 overall while Sage drops to 0-10.

Sophomore Emma Parkington (Dalton, MA/Wahconah Regional) posted a double-double after adding 11 kills with 14 digs and12.5 points. Graduate player Miranda Nethaway (Fonda, NY/Fonda Fultonville) added eight kills with three digs and three block assists, elevating her career resume to include 199 career total blocks putting her at No. 5 on the career block list at Sage.

Sage's senior outside hitter Megan Ryder (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin Perth) added 13 digs with and ace and three kills, while rookie defensive specialist Elaina Moisidis (Albany, NY/Albany) had nine digs in the action. Junior setter Brooke Monty (Copake, NY/Taconic Hills) had 14 setting assists with two aces and six digs.

Sage is back in action on Wednesday night September 18 hosting Bard College in Kahl Gym in the team's home opener.
