Volleyball squad falls to St. Joseph's (Maine) on Sunday

Standish, ME—Sage's women's volleyball team wrapped up their trip in Maine on Sunday taking on St. Joseph's College (ME). St. Joe's collected a 3-0 win over Sage, beating the Gators 26-24, 25-21, 25-12 and improve to 5-10, while Sage falls to 4-13.

Junior middle hitter Miranda Nethaway (Fonda, NY/Fonda Fultonville Central) collected six kills with six digs, one ace while racking up an impressive six total blocks on five solos blocks and a block assist. Nethaway leads the Gators with her 46 total blocks this fall, elevating her career total to 140 and is now tied for the No. 10 spot on the career block list with Lauren LaRoque (1996-1999).

Rookie outside hitter Emma Parkington (Dalton, MA/Wahconah Regional) added five kills with eight setting assists, five digs and an ace. Sophomore outside hitter Gabby Rowell (Morrisonville, NY/Beekmantown) turned in a performance that included three kills and three digs, while junior outside hitter Megan Ryder (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) led all players with her 13 digs and three aces.

The Gators will return to action on Wednesday, October 3 travelling to MCLA for a 6 p.m. non-conference match.
