Gorham, Maine – The Sage Colleges women's volleyball team lost in four to Keene State at the Southern Maine Tournament Saturday. In the second match of the day, host Southern Maine was a winner in four over Sage.

The Owls (14-5) won the opener by scores of 25-15, 25-8, 20-25 and 26-15. The Huskies won by scores of 25-13, 24-23, 21-25 and 25-14 to improve to 12-5 on the season. The Gators are now 4-12 on the year.

In the Keene State match, Sage was led by freshman Emma Parkington (Dalton, MA/Wahconah), who had 10 kills and 17 assists. Junior Megan Ryder (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin Perth) had three service aces and 14 digs while junior Lidia LaPorto (Troy, NY/Averill Park) added 12 digs.

Keene State's Riley Bunker recorded 21 digs and Bailey Wilson led all players with 35 assists while Megan Palmer had a team high 11 kills.

Ryder led all Sage and Southern Maine players with a high of 30 digs. It was her second 30 dig performance in 2018, just one shy of her season high 31 vs. Southern Vermont on September 17. Parkington had another strong match in the nightcap. She posted team highs of nine kills and 16 assists while junior Miranda Nethaway ( Fonda, NY/Fonda Fultonville Central) joined her in the team high with her nine kills along with two service aces. Senior Allison Bardwell (Whately, MA/Frontier Regional) had 12 assists against Southern Maine.

The Huskies were led by Alexis Dow with 13 kills, Lauren Delissio with 20 digs and Rachel Chille with 15 digs.

Sage plays Sunday at St. Joseph's (Maine) at 2 p.m.
