Amherst, MA - The Sages Colleges women's volleyball team went 1-1 on the day in matches at Amherst College. Sage defeated Newbury in the opening match.

Sage won by scores of 25-23, 25-23 and 25-21.

The Nighthawks staved off several set points throughout the match, but Sage did just enough in each set to win the neutral site matchup.

Megan Ryder (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin Perth) led all players with 9 kills and 18 digs, making just two errors for a Gators team that hit .130 for the match. Emma Parkington (Dalton, MA/Wahconah Regional) posted great balanced numbers with six kills, 19 assists, five digs and a match high four service aces, nearly half of the team's 10 aces that the Gators posted for the day.

Ortiz Arce led Newbury with six kills and ten digs. 

The Gators played Amherst later in the day.
