Sage falls on the road to Wildcats in Women's Volleyball

Marcy, NY—The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team was in action on Monday night at SUNY-Polytechnic in a non-conference match. The host Wildcats collected a 3-0 win, beating Sage 25-11, 25-10, 25-18 and are now 2-6 on the year. Sage drops to 2-5.

Rookie outside hitter Emma Parkington (Dalton, MA/Wahconah Regional) added five kills to lead the Gators, while the trio of junior middle hitter Miranda Nethaway (Fonda, NY/Fonda Fultonville Central), junior middle hitter Skylar Van Alstyne (Castleton, NY/Maple Hill), and sophomore outside hitter Gabby Rowell (Morrisonville, NY/Beekmantown) all added three kills apiece in the contest. Rowell also connected for seven digs, while Nethaway added two block assists. Junior outside hitter Megan Ryder (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) added two kills with four digs and a block assist.

Junior libero Lidia LoPorto (Troy, NY/Averill Park) picked up a team-best 10 digs and added an ace, while sophomore setter Brooke Monty (Copake, NY/Taconic Hills) had 17 setting assists with six digs. Rookie Ani Crocker (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs Catholic) added four digs and an ace for the Gators.

The Gators will return to action on Saturday, September 15 at Amherst College for a tri-match with Newbury College in matches at 1 and 3 p.m.
