Schneiderman earns All-Tournament honors for Sage at Skidmore Tournament

Saratoga Springs, NY – The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team wrapped play on Saturday at the Skidmore College Invitational facing Lasell College and SUNY-Cortland. The Gators dropped a tough first match to Lasell, 3-2 (17-25, 25-23, 25-22, 23-25, 15-12) and then fell to Cortland, 3-0 (25-8, 25-10, 25-22). With the losses, Sage is now 5-16.

Sage's senior libero Missy Schneiderman (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team for her play this weekend.

Sage dropped a five set decision in the first match of the day as they fell to Lasell, 3-2. Scheiderman had 18 digs with an ace, while sophomore outside hitter Jessica Carrozzi (Warnerville, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) led the way with her 11 kills and a .429 attack percentage. Sophomore middle hitter Miranda Nethaway (Fonda, NY/Fonda Fultonville) added 10 kills with five total blocks. Rookie outside hitter Gabby Rowell (Morrisonville, NY/Beekmantown) connected for the double double with her 20 digs and 12 kills to help the Gators.

Against SUNY-Cortland, senior middle hitter Alyssa Nellis (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) and sophomore middle hitter Miranda Nethaway (Fonda, NY/Fonda Fultonville) each added four kills. Nellis added an ace with two digs and three setting assists. Junior setter Brittany Orminski (Galway, NY/Galway) added two kills with eight digs and handed out seven setting assists. Senior libero Missy Schneiderman (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) added six digs in the match.

Sage is back in action on October 4 hosting MCLA in a non-conference contest at Kahl Gym at 7 p.m.
