Three women's volleyball players from Sage honored with release of 2016 Skyline Conference All-Star Teams

New York, NY–With the release of the 2016 Skyline Conference Women's Volleyball All-Star Teams, The Sage Colleges' squad had three players honored. Named to the first team from Sage were senior setter Rachel Liebig (Hartford, NY/Hartford) and junior defensive specialist Missy Schneiderman (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley), while senior outside Michayla Berard (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) earned a spot on the second team. Sage, which was a semifinalist in the 2016 Skyline Conference Women's Volleyball Tournament finished the season with a 17-18 record after producing an 8-3 mark in Skyline play this fall.

Liebig, who is a repeat Skyline Conference All-Star First Team pick, finished the year with her team-leading 957 setting assists, which ranks sixth best in school single-season records. On her career, she finished as the No. 2 all-time setting assist leader with her 3,332 setting assists, while also adding 203 aces, which stands fourth highest as well. She also connected for 613 digs in her 131 matches played at Sage. Liebig is currently nationally ranked in three different categories as she is No. 80 in total assists, while ranking No. 248 in aces and No. 181 in setting assists per set average (7.6).

Now a three-time Skyline Conference all-star after earning a spot on the 2014 All-Star Second Team, Liebig added 7.60 setting assists per set this fall. She capped her career with a 7.57 setting assists per set average as a Gator, which ranks third highest as well for all-time performers. Her performances in both 2014 and 2015 in single-season aces rank No. 7 and No. 15, respectively. Every season's accomplishments in setting assists rank in the Top 20 as well. As a rookie, her setting assists in 2013 (444) stand No. 19,  while her 1,006 setting assists in 2014 is fourth highest, her 925 last season was seventh and her 2016 performance of 957 is No. 10.

The selection for Sage's libero Schneiderman is the first of her career. Ove the course of the 2016 campaign, she garnered her 1,000th career dig, while adding a team-best 436 digs on the year. She added 3.49 digs per set, while playing in 125 sets with 41 aces and 47.0 points. She has now amassed 1,041 career digs, which ranks No. 14 in the program's career record book. She also now boasts 105 career aces, which is 18th best. Schneiderman is also among the current NCAA Division III leaders as she is ranked No. 192 in total digs.

Berard, who added 325.0 points on the season with 294 kills and a .226 attack percentage, earned her first career post-season placement. She added 82 digs with 42 total blocks and 10 solo blocks this fall, elevating her career resume to include 964 kills (No. 6), with 165 total blocks (No. 7) with 1,091 career points.
