Poughkeepsie, NY–The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team visited Vassar College on Thursday night in a non-conference match with the Brewers. Vassar posted a 3-0 win (25-12, 25-20, 25-15) to improve to 16-7, while Sage drops to 10-14.

Despite the loss, Sage's team was bolstered by a record-setting performance in the match as senior setter and team tri-captain Rachel Liebig (Hartford, NY/Hartford) tallied 16 setting assists with 1 kill, and 1 ace. With her 16th setting assist in the match on Thursday, Liebig achieved her 3,000th career setting assist. She is now one of just two players in Sage history to have 3,000 or more setting assists. Already standing at No. 2 in career setting assists, she is also now 188 career aces and is No. 4 at Sage. A CoSIDA Academic All-District nominee, she leads the team this season with her 625 setting assists and is ranked 89th nationally in total assists and No. 181 in setting assists per set average with her 7.27 average.

Senior outside hitter Michayla Berard (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) racked up a team-best eight kills in the action while rookie Jessica Carrozzi (Warnerville, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) and senior tri-captain Sara Campolieta (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) added three kills apiece.

Junior defensive specialist Missy Schneiderman (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) connected for eight digs, while Campolieta tallied seven digs for the Gators.

Berard who ranks in both career kills and blocks at Sage now has 825 career kills and stands No. 7 all-time in kills. She has 146 career total blocks is in sole possession of the No. 8 spot at Sage. Schneiderman now has 901 career digs and is No. 17 at Sage on the career record book. Campolieta checks in with 459 career kills and is now 16th all-time and now has 784career digs and is looking to move into the program's Top 25 soon in career digs.

Sage is back in action on October 16 when they travel to the College of Mt. St. Vincent for a Skyline Conference tri-match with St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn with matches at 1 and 3 p.m.
