Liebig saluted as Skyline Volleyball Player of the Week

New York, NY–After an impressive 3-0 week, Sage's women's volleyball team was also honored as senior team captain, Rachel Liebig (Hartford, NY/Hartford) was saluted as the Skyline Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week. The award is the second for the setter, who was honored with the award on September 6.

After Sunday's two victories, the Gator senior continues her personal climb in the Sage women's volleyball record books. Liebig now has moved into the No. 2 spot on the career setting assist list as she now boasts 2,984 and moved ahead of Joanie Cooney (2010-2013, 2,973). She is poised to become just the second played in program history to achieve 3,000 career setting assists. She also now has 187 career aces and is No. 4 in aces as a Gator.

On the week, she added 8.1 setting assists for the stand. She had 30 setting assists with 15 digs in the win over MCLA and had four aces in the win over Yeshiva. She earned her second Skyline Conference Player of the Week citation. She is also nationally ranked in total setting assists (No. 89) and assists per set average (7.34, No. 181).

Sage is back in action on October 13 when they travel to face Vassar College in a non-conference match with the Brewers at 7 p.m. in Poughkeepsie, NY.
