Sage win streak halted as Gators fall to CMSV; Rebound with 3-0 win over Yeshiva

Riverdale, NY--The Sage Colleges' women's volleyball team travelled to the College of Mt. St. Vincent for a tri-match with Yeshiva. The Dolphins of CMSV halted the Gators' Skyline Conference win streak as they knocked off Sage, 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-21). The Gators rebounded with a 3-0 win over Yeshiva (25-8, 25-10, 25-6). Sage drops to 18-8 overall and 5-1 in the league. With their win over Sage, CMSV snapped the team's 26 consecutive regular-season Skyline Conference win streak. Prior to Sunday, Sage had not lost a Skyline Conference dating back to October 3, 2012.

Against CMSV, junior Sara Campolieta (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) connected for 10 kills. Junior outside hitter Michayla Berard (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) racked up nine kills, while senior Morgan Robinson (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) added four kills. Sophomore middle hitter Alyssa Nellis (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) tallied four kills with three digs and two aces.

Junior libero Siena Wilder (Ballston Spa, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Spa) had two aces with 17 digs, while junior setter Rachel Liebig (Hartford, NY/Hartford) had 25 setting assists with seven digs. Junior Katy Rimawi (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) added seven digs.

In the nightcap, Sage topped Yeshiva behind eight kills from Nellis and Campolieta and six kills from Berard. Wilder had nine digs and three aces, while Rimawi added nine kills. Robinson also had eight kills, while Liebig had 32 setting assists and Wilder had two aces with nine digs.

Sage is back in action on October 21 hosting Vassar College in a 7 p.m. match at Kahl Gym.
