Wilson joins exclusive Gator club with 1500th career dig

Newburgh, NY--The Sage College's women's volleyball team faced the Knights of Mt. Saint Mary College on Tuesday night in a Skyline Conference match. MSMC earned the 3-0 win (25-19, 25-19, 25-19) and improve to 7-9 overall and 3-0 in the league. Sage drops to 8-15 overall and 1-2 in the league.

Senior libero, Kelsey Wilson (Schenectady, NY/Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons) racked up 20 digs in the match and surpassed the 1,500 career dig mark. She becomes just the third player in Sage history to achieve 1,500 digs as she has 1,504.

Reining Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week, freshman outside hitter Helen Putriment (Troy, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) connected on her third straight double-double as she had 10 kills with 10 digs.

Sage's sophomore setter Joanie Cooney (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) finished the night with 21 setting assists. Cooney now has 555 setting assists on the season, elevating her career number to 1,103 which is sixth best at Sage.

Freshman Jillian Scwab (Fayetteville, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) added six kills for the Gators in the contest.

Sage returns to action on October 7 facing Purchase College on the road in a 7 p.m. Skyline Conference match.
