Utica, NY--Russell Sage College women's outdoor track and field team wrapped up competition on Saturday, while in action at the 2023 Empire 8 Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Utica University. Nazareth College won the women's team crowns, while the Gators finished in sixth place in the team standings.
Junior Mackenzie Feeney (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) posted a school record time as she picked up third in the 1,500 meter run in 4:59.35, bettering her own mark from last month of 5:05.49. She also was 10th in the 800 meter run in 2:32.26.
Newcomer Tirzah Spivey (Clifton Park, NY/Schenectady) broke her own school record from last week as she picked up eighth place in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:12.97, bettering her time of 1:12.97.
RSC also had a school record showing in the 4 x 400 relay as they posted a time of 4:32.75 and were fifth. On the relay were sophomore Crystal Ivery (Cairo, NY/Cairo-Durham), Spivey, rookie Charisma Losee (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh), and Feeney. They broke the old record time of 4:38.51 set in 2016.
Sophomore Elizabeth Ingellis (Kingston, NY/Kingston) was sixth in the 5,000 meter run in 19:01.83.
Rookie Ashley Rabbitt (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Lake) had a throw of 23.58 in the discus to take 15th.
