Feeney breaks school record at RPI Night Invitational

Troy, NY--Russell Sage College women's outdoor track and field team competed Friday night at the RPI Under the Lights Invitational.

Junior Mackenzie Feeney (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) finished in fourth place in the 1,500 meter run in 5:05.49 breaking the school record of 5:09.88 set in 2019 by Kerry Flower.

Freshman Charisma Losee (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) was seventh in the 400 meter run in 1:10.22, while sophomore Crystal Ivery (Cairo, NY/Cairo-Durham) was right behind her in eighth place in 1:10.98.

Newcomer Tirzah Spivey (Clifton Park, NY/Schenectady) recorded an eighth place finish in the 100 meter hurdles in 18.48 and seventh in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:15.15.

Junior Jasmine Zollman (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem Central) was 11th in the long jump with a mark of 4.04 meters.

Junior Giuliana Capparello (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) posted a time of 14.48 in the 100 meter dash to take 12th place and was 21st in the 200 meter dash in 31.17.

Rookie Ashley Rabbitt (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Lake) had a throw of 27.25 meters in the hammer to take 10th and she had a throw of 23.63 meters in the discus to take 10th.  

In the 4 x100 relay, a men's and women's combined relay RSC took home third place in event in 47.15 behind the work of sophomore David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia), rookie Dominic Harkness (Morrisonville, NY/Saranac), Spivey and  Feeney as they finished in 11th in 4:05.33. The other Gator foursome of freshman Chris Pellegrini (Loudonville, NY/Colonie) and sophomore Isaac Langer (Hudson, NY/Taconic Hills) teamed with Losee and Ivery to post a time of 4:19.30 and placed 19th.

The Gators are back in action on April 21 competing at the University at Albany Spring Invitational at 3 p.m.
