Ingellis and Feeney set school records at Utica Holiday Classic

Utica, NY– Russell Sage College women's indoor track and field team competed on Saturday at the Utica University Pioneer Invitational. RSC women broke two schools in the meet,

Sophomore Elizabeth Ingellis (Kingston, NY/Kingston) broke her own school record while running the 5,000 meter run. She posted a time of 19:44.28 to take home sixth place. She bettered her own record of 20:32.26 set last February at the Utica Invitational.

Junior Mackenzie Feeney (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) broke the school record with her showing in the 600 meter run as she had a time of 1:54.45 and finished in fourth place. She bettered the mark set last week by teammate Crystal Ivery at Springfield College (1:59.95). Feeney also ran the one mile run and posted a fifth place finish with her time of 5:42.74.  

Junior Giuliana Capparello (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) posted a time of 33.39 in the 200 meter dash and finished in 36th place.

Newcomer Ashley Rabbitt (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Lake) had a mark of 8.35 meters in the weight throw to finish in 20th place. She had a mark of 7.53 meters in the shot put and finished in 29th.     

The Gators finished in 10th place with 12 points in the 11-team field as Cortland State won the team crown with a score of 210.5 points.

RSC will take to the track again in January when they compete at the Middlebury College Winter Classic on January 21.
