ROCHESTER – Russell Sage College's women's indoor track and field team turned in multiple noteworthy performances while competing on Friday evening at the Nazareth College Tune Up Meet at the Golisano Training Center. The record book saw three school marks fall at the event.
Sophomore co-captain Mackenzie Feeney (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) broke her own school record in the mile run as she finished in 12th place with a time of 5:39.83, bettering her mark of 5:44.05 set last season at the 2021 Empire 8 Indoor Championships.
Senior Natalie Ricci (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) set a program mark with her fourth place finish in the 60 meter invitational race as she bettered her own time. She posted a time of 8.15 breaking her effort of 8.31 set two weeks ago. She also picked up fourth place in the 200 meter dash with a school record time of 26.52 to break another of her own records (27.31).
Sophomore Anna Breidenbach (Monson, MA/Monson) posted a time of 9.21 to take 12th in the 60 meter dash, while rookie Merideth Diegel (Albany, NY/Colonie) turned in a time of 11.08 in the 60 meter hurdles to finish 27th.
In the 800 meter run, sophomore Hether Scutt (Ancramdale, NY/Taconic Hills) turned in a time of 4:06.41.
In the 200 meter run, rookie Amelia Geesler (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central) had a time of 27.79 taking 19th, while junior Julia Gerringer (Lagrangeville, NY/Arlington) was 21st in 27.90. Sophomore Jasmine Zollman (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem Central) had a time of 31.40, while Breidenbach added a time of 32.02 and Diegel turned in a pace of 32.86 in the event.
Zollman also had a performance on 4.17 meters in the long jump.
In the 3,000 meter run, RSC's sophomore co-captain Elizabeth Cronin (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich Central) was 10th in 11:23.18, while newcomer Elizabeth Ingellis (Kingston, NY/Kingston) turned in the time of 11:57.88 and was 26th.
Looking ahead, RSC competes next on Friday and Saturday, February 25 and 26 at the 2022 Empire 8 Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will take place at Utica University.
