Gator women continue to break school records on the campaign

BOSTON –  Russell Sage College turned in multiple noteworthy performances while competing on Friday and Saturday at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational. The Gator broke school records in the highly competitive meet that featured top Division I, II and III programs.

In the women's 4 x 400 meter relay, the Gators combined for a time of 4:26:13 to establish a school record with their time, shattering the previous mark set in January at the Middlebury Winterfell Invitational of 4:42.36. Competing on the relay were rookie, Amelia Geesler (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central), junior Julia Gerringer (Lagrangeville, NY/Arlington), sophomore co-captain Emma Cronin (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich Central), and sophomore co-captain Mackenzie Feeney (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties).

Senior Natalie Ricci (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) dashed 200m in 26.66 to lower her program record. The senior, who was named the E8 Track Athlete of the Week on Monday, finished 21st in the 60m dash with a time of 8.39.

Geesler also lowered her school record in the 400m run with a time of 1:01.77, while Feeney also bettered her own mark having turned in a time of 4:26.13 as she competed in the 800 meter run. Cronin also turned in a time of 2:38.68 in the 800 meter run while also competing in the race.

Looking ahead, RSC competes next on Friday at the Nazareth Invitational. The meet is set to begin at 3:30 pm.
