Ricci Named E8 Women's Track Athlete of the Week

ALBANY, N.Y. –  Russell Sage College senior Natalie Ricci (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) was named the Empire 8 Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, February 6 after a banner showing at the Utica College Pioneer Invitational.

Ricci penned her name to three school records on Saturday at the Utica Pioneer Invitational. She was fourth in the 60-meter dash in a time of 8.31 seconds and was also fifth in the 200-meter dash (27.31). Ricci was also part of the record setting foursome in the 4 x 200-meter relay with a time of 1:53.99. She bettered her own time of 8.38 in the 60-meter run set last year, while improving upon another of her times in the 200-meter run (27.56) set in 2021.

A two-sport student-athlete at RSC, Ricci was a member of the Gator women's soccer team this fall. She was voted first-team All-Empire 8 Conference and finished the season 11th in program records with 53 career points. She is also tied for tenth among RSC players with 23 career goals. She capped the 2021 campaign having started all 18 contests and led the Gators with 20 points on nine goals and two assists. She was ranked fifth in the E8 in scoring and finished the season fourth in the conference in goals and was also tied for second in the E8 with three game-winning goals.

RSC's track and field team will be back in action on February 11-12 at the Boston University Valentine Invitational.
