Banner day for the RSC women as 5 school records fall

Utica, NY — The Russell Sage College's women's  indoor track and field team competed on Saturday at the Utica College Pioneer Invitational. RSC's women's teams set five school records in the meet.  RPI women won the team title after scoring 141 points in the 14-team field as the Gators posted 16 points and finished in ninth place.

Senior Natalie Ricci (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) penned her name to three school records on Saturday. She was fourth in the 60 meter dash in 8.31 and also fifth in the 200 meter dash (27.31). She was also part of the record setting foursome in the 4 x 200 relay that was fifth in 1:53.99. She bettered her own time of 8.38 in the 60 meter run set last year, while improving upon another of her times in the 200 meter run (27.56) set in 2021.

Rookie Elizabeth Ingellis (Kingston, NY/Kingston) finished in 10th place in the 5,000 meter run in 20:32.26 to establish the school record.

In the 4x200 relay, Ricci, junior Julia Gerringer (Lagrangeville, NY/Arlington), sophomore Mackenzie Feeney (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties), and rookie Amelia Geesler (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central) ran the race for the Gators.

Rookie Alyssa McClurg (Cropseyville, NY/Tamarac) broke her own school record in the long jump as she picked up 11th in 4.41 meters, bettering her performance of 4.40 meters set last month.

In the mile run, Feeney was 10th in 5:58.80. Rookie Merideth Diegel (Albany, NY/Colonie) picked up seventh in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 11.11, while Geesler was eighth in the 60 meter dash in 8.43 seconds. In the 200 meter dash, Geesler was 13th in 28.03. Also running the race, Gerringer picked up 16th in 28.36, while McClurg was 28th in

29.67. Diegel finished in 40th in 31.42 and sophomore Anna Breidenbach (Monson, MA/Monson) took 41st in 31.90.

Sophomore Jasmine Zollman (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem Central) finished in 13th in the long jump with a mark of 4.35 meters. Rookie Madalyn Walsh (Cohoes, NY/Shaker) was 24th in the shot put with toss of 7.53 meters and also 34th in the weight throw with her mark of 7.17 meters.

RSC also picked up a ninth place showing in the 4x 200 relay as Breidenbach, Diegel, Zollman, and McClurg combined for a time of 2:06.91.

The Gators are back in action on February 11-12 travelling to the Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University.
