Gators Open at Springfield College

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. –  Russell Sage College began its indoor track and field season at Springfield College. The Gators, competing in just their fourth indoor meet as a program, tallied a few standout performances on the day.

Sophomore Mackenzie Feeney (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) recorded the highest finish at the meet. She ran the mile in 5:47.45 to take second.

Sophomore Hethar Scutt (Ancramdale, NY/Taconic Hills) completed the 1,000m run with a time of 5:18.65, while sophomore Emma Cronin (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich Central) took ninth in the 3,000m run with a 11:35.38 clocking.

In the sprints, freshman Amelia Geesler (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central) tallied a pair of higher placings. She was 12th in the 60m dash with a time of 8.35 and 13th in the 200m dash with a 28.20 clocking.

Geesler, Cronin, Feeney, and senior Katherine Florian (Bronx, NY/Academy of Mount Saint Ursula) were seventh in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:56.78.

Looking ahead, RSC competes next on January 22 at the Middlebury Invitational.
