Thayer breaks her own record in the discus to lead Gators at Twighlight Meet

Poughkeepsie, NY—Sage's women's track and field squad travelled to the Matthew Vassar Twighlight Meet at Vassar College for the final competition of the season. The meet was a non-team scored meet.

Sophomore Logan Thayer (S. Glens Falls, NY/S. Glens Falls) was fourth in the discus with a throw of 28.78 meters, breaking her own school record from earlier in the season (28.45 meters).

Junior Sabrena Smith (Woodburne, VT/Tri-Valley Central) was third in the high jump with a mark of 1.37 meters. She added a fourth place finish in the long jump (4.17 meters), while also taking fifth in the 100 meter hurdles in 18.76. She wrapped the meet with an 8th place finish in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 14:26.04.

Rookie Joanna Tavolaro (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) picked up second in the triple jump with her mark of 9.21 meters and added a second place in the pole vault with a leap of 2.35 meters.

For the Sage women, senior Krystal Lambert (Brooklyn, NY/John Dewey) picked up third in the long jump with her effort of 4.35 meters. In the 100 meter run, senior Sharmise Pratt (New York, NY/Urban Assembly for Careers in Sports) and sophomore Kadedra Allen (Troy, NY/Troy) were 7th and 8th place in times of 16.43 and 16.66, respectively.

 

Senior Kimberly Craft (Ellenville, NY/Ellenville) finished in seventh in the shot put with her throw of 8.18 meters.
