Another impressive finish for the Gator women at Capital District Championship

Troy, NY—The Sage Colleges' women's track and field team visited RPI for the 2017 Capital District Championships at RPI. Sage's women's team finished in ninth place at the meet.

Junior Sabrena Smith (Woodburne, VT/Tri-Valley Central) was sixth in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:14.90, a Sage school record time. She broke her own record set a year ago (1:16.86). She added a 10th place finish in the high jump with her mark of 1.39 meters and rounded out her day with a 13th place finish in the long jump with her mark of 4.32 meters. She was also 17th in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18.31.

Sophomore Sagan Leggett (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane) picked up ninth in the 5,000 meter run with her impressive time of 21:54.07.

Rookie Joanna Tavolaro (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) was sixth in the triple jump with her mark of 9.68 meters, breaking Sage's school record in the process. She bettered the old mark of 8.0 meters set in 2015 by Alyssa Tatro. She added an 18th place finish in the 100 meter hurdles in 18.32.

For the Sage women, senior Krystal Lambert (Brooklyn, NY/John Dewey) picked up 10th in the 100 meter run in 13.91 meters, while senior Sharmise Pratt (New York, NY/Urban Assembly for Careers in Sports) and sophomore Kadedra Allen (Troy, NY/Troy) were 24th and 25th in the 100 meter runs with time of 16.35 and 16.60 respectively.

Pratt was 31st in the 200 meter run in 33.37, while Lambert picked up 17th in the long jump (3.84 meters). Allen was 18th in the long jump with her mark of 3.14 meters.

Sophomore Logan Thayer (S. Glens Falls, NY/S. Glens Falls) was 20th in the discus with a throw of 25.97 meters and took 25th in the shot put with her throw of 8.23 meters.

Rookie Amanda Jones (West Sand Lake, NY/Columbia) picked up 19th in the 1,500 meter run in 5:52.84 for the Gators.

The season will wrap on Friday as the Gators will compete at the Vassar Meet.
