Leggett wins 3,000 meter run to cap Gators' day at Swanson Invitational

Middletown, CT—The Sage Colleges' women's track and field squad was in action on Saturday competing at the Swanson Invitational, a non-team scored meet hosted by Wesleyan University.

Sophomore Sagan Leggett (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane) won the women's 3,000 meter run with her impressive time of 12:53.05.

Junior Sabrena Smith (Woodburne, VT/Tri-Valley Central) was second in the high jump with mark of 1.45 meters and added a third place finish in the 100 meter hurdles in 18.40.

Rookie Joanna Tavolaro (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) was fourth in the 100 meter hurdles in 19.00 and picked up a fifth in the triple jump with her mark of 9.05 meters. She was also sixth in the pole vault with a leap of 2.35 meters.

Sophomore Logan Thayer (S. Glens Falls, NY/S. Glens Falls) was the runner up in the discus with her toss of 27.53 meters and picked up fourth in the shot put (8.76 meters). She wrapped her day with an 11th place finish in the javelin with her throw of 16.38 meters.

Sophomore Kadedra Allen (Troy, NY/Troy) picked up ninth in the long jump with her performance if 3.52 meters. She was also 13th in the 100 meter dash in 16.63 and 17th in the 200 meter run in 35.59.

For the Sage women, senior Krystal Lambert (Brooklyn, NY/John Dewey) picked up a seventh in the 200 meter run in 29.55.

Rookie Amanda Jones (West Sand Lake, NY/Columbia) picked up ninth in the 1,500 meter run in 5:54.72. Senior Sharmise Pratt (New York, NY/Urban Assembly for Careers in Sports) was 14th in the 100 meter run (16.87) and 16th in the 200 meter run in 35.22.
