Northampton, MA –The Sage women's outdoor track and field team travelled to Massachusetts to compete at the Pioneers Invitational at Smith College, a non-team scored meet.

On the women's side of the meet, Sage's 4 x 100 relay team finished in 7th in 54.96. Running on the relay were sophomore Sarah VanAernem (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa), junior Krystal Lambert (Brooklyn, NY/John Dewey), sophomore Sabrena Smith (Woodburne, NY/Tri-Valley Central), and junior Nyasia Irby (Great Neck, NY/Manhasset).

Rookie Sagan Leggett (Valatia, NY/Ichabod Crane) picked up a 9th place finish in the high jump with per performance of 1.27 meters. Rookie Hannah French (Berlin, NY/Berlin) finished in 12th with her mark of 2.16 meters. In the long jump, Krystal Lambert was 12th in 4.38 meters. Sarah VanAernem was 13th in the long jump (4.33 meters), while Sabrena Smith was 16th with a performance of 4.25 meters.

In the discus, freshman Logan Thayer (S. Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls) picked up 15th with her toss of 26.44 meters. Sophomore Samanatha Phelps (Amsterdam, NY/Fonda Fultonville) was 28th in the event with a mark of 16.08 meters, while junior Michelle Tanner (Oriskany, NY/Oriskany) was next with her toss of 13.72 meters, taking 31st place. In the shot put, Thayer was 25th with her throw of 7.87 meters. Junior Kimberly Craft (Ellenville, NY/Ellenville) picked up 28th with toss of 7.47 meters, while Phelps picked up 33rd (6.60 meters), and Tanner was 37th with a throw of 4.63 meters.

In the 1,500 meter run junior Lauren Belfast (Ilion, NY/Ilion) posted a time of 6:15.01 and finished in 48th, while senior Ellyn Fisher (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) was next in 6:17.40 to take 50th and Phelps was 56th in 6:26.33. French posted a time of 6:27.36 and took 58th.

In the 100 meter hurdles, VanAernem was 14th with a performance of 18.61, while Smith picked up 23rd with a time of 20.74. In the 100 meter dash, junior Krystal Lambert finished in 19th in 14.39 and rookie Kadedra Allen (Troy, NY/Troy) picked up 39th in 16.47.

Junior Nyasia Irby (Great Neck, NY/Manhasset) posted a time of 27.89 in the 200 meter dash and picked up 11th place and Allen finished in 34.68 to take 54th place.  In the 800 meter run, Belfast was 48th in 3:03.62 and Phelps was 49th in 3:06.62.

Sage also fourth in the 4 x 400 relay with a time of 4:38.51 as Lambert, Leggett, Smith and Irby ran on the relay for the Gators.

Next up for the Gators is a competition on April 16 at Middlebury College in the Panther Spring Invitational.
