Gators Achieve Highest Win Total of the Fall vs. Utica

ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Women's Tennis had its highest point total of the fall in Wednesday's 7-0 Empire 8 Conference home loss to Utica.

Junior Mackenzie Clogston (Bradford, VT/Oxbow) picked up the first set victory of the season, a 6-2 triumph in the opening frame of the number five singles contest. Her setback against the Pioneers (1-9/1-6 E8) came down to a 15-13 third set tiebreak, part of winning 22 games across singles and doubles.

RSC (0-10/0-7 E8), which took 40 games on the day, wraps up the season on Saturday against SUNY Geneseo.

Gator Bites with Papa John's: The Gators are coming off arguably their best season as a program in 2024…RSC tallied eight victories, including a program-record five Empire 8 Conference wins, and reached the semifinals of the E8 Championship Tournament…The fall marks the debut season with former Gator Taylor Gillespie '22 at the helm…This year's roster features four returnees and three newcomers…Senior Tirzah Spivey (Clifton Park, NY/Schenectady) headlines the returning Gators…The three-time All-Conference player, yet to play this fall, went 13-0 at number two singles last autumn.
