Trio Earn All-E8 Conference Honors

Inserra

HILTON, N.Y. – Russell Sage College had three women's tennis players: senior Maria Inserra (Theresa, NY/Indian River), sophomore Emma Nuzzi (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake), and freshman Tirzah Spivey (Clifton Park, NY/Schenectady) earn All-Empire 8 Conference honors. The results of the voting, which was done by the league's head coaches, was announced by the E8 earlier this morning.

Spivey received All-E8 status in both singles and doubles. The rookie made the second-team for singles and, along with Nuzzi, third-team for doubles. Playing predominantly at number one, she recorded a 9-3 overall record in singles competition.  Teaming with Nuzzi at the top of the RSC doubles lineup, the pair registered a 6-2 ledger.

One member of each team was named that institution's representative on the 2022 E8 Women's Tennis Sportswoman of the Year Team. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.  Inserra was selected to represent the Gators on this squad.
