Plattsburgh, NY – Russell Sage College's women's tennis team traveled to Plattsburgh State University for their season finale on Wednesday afternoon. The Cardinals collected the narrow 5-4 win to move to 6-5, while the loss puts RSC at 5-8 for the fall.

RSC posted an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles as rookie Tirzah Spivey (Clifton Park, NY/Schenectady) and sophomore Gwen Eichen (Moriah, NY/Moriah Central).

Plattsburgh led 2-1 after the doubles play, while Spivey was a winner at No. 1 singles, beating Cydney Bond, 6-1, 6-1. For the season Spivey went 9-3.

Junior Emma Nuzzi (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Lakes) won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles as she bested Sam Svantner. Eichen was a win in a three-set tie breaker at No. 3 singles as she beat Sarah Benowitz (3-6, 6-4, 10-3) and finished the singles season with an 8-5 mark.
