HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Russell Sage College women's tennis team fell 7-2 at Houghton this afternoon in their 2022 Empire 8 opener.
Freshman Tirzah Spivey (Clifton Park, NY/Schenectady) had the lone RSC win during the singles portion of the Empire 8 Conference match. She took the top singles flight by a score of 6-1, 6-2.
In doubles, the duo of Claire Connolly (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls), a graduate student, and sophomore Gwendolyn Eichen (Moriah Center, NY/Moriah Central) won 8-6 playing number two.
Looking ahead, the Gators (2-3) return to the courts on Tuesday at Lesley. The non-conference match is set to begin at 4:00 pm.
