RSC Edged in Home Opener by MSMC

ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College was edged in this afternoon's home opener by Mount Saint Mary College by a score of 5-4.

Sophomore Gwendolyn Eichen (Moriah Center, NY/Moriah Central) moved to 4-0 in singles on the young season with a 6-2, 7-5 win in the number three spot.

Claire Connelly (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls), a graduate student, and senior Jillian Goralewski (Kingston, NY/Kingston) also garnered singles victories, playing at number four and number five respectively. 

Sophomore Emma Nuzzi (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) and freshman Tirzah Spivey (Clifton Park, NY/Schenectady) had the lone RSC triumph during the doubles portion of the non-conference matinee. The duo won at number one doubles by a score of 8-5.

After playing both days this weekend, the Gators (2-2) are off until Saturday when they visit Houghton. The Empire 8 Conference match is set to begin at 1:00 pm.
