Utica, NY – Russell Sage College's women's tennis team hosted the Cardinals of St. John Fisher College on Saturday night in their final match of the season. The Cardinals collected a 7-2win to move to 5-4 overall and 4-2 in the Empire 8, while the loss wraps the Gators season at 0-10 overall and 0-6 in the league.

RSC's rookie Maddie Cherry (Las Vegas, NV/Odyssey Charter) picked up a win at No. 1 singles as she beat SJFC's Kathryn Strait, 4-1 retired. With the victory at No. 1 singles, she went a perfect 9-0 in singles play this fall. She and her partner, senior Taylor Gillespie (Cobleskill, NY/Cobleskill Richmondville) added an 8-6 win over SJFC's Kathryn Strait and Keely Legnard to aid in the Gators' performance on Saturday. For the fall, the tandem went 6-2 with one another.
