Pittsford, NY – Russell Sage College's women's tennis team traveled to Nazareth College on Sunday afternoon for an Empire 8 match. Nazareth posted the 8-1 victory to improve to 6-1 overall and remains perfect in the league at 5-0. RSC drops to 0-9 overall and 0-5 in the league.

RSC's rookie Maddie Cherry (Las Vegas, NV/Odyssey Charter) picked up a win at No. 1 singles as she beat Nazareth's Aliya Guzman, 6-3, 6-2. With the victory at No. 1 singles, she remains perfect this fall in singles play as she is now 8-0.

The Gators are back in action on October 9 for an Empire 8 match against St. John Fisher College which will take place at Utica College at 5 p.m. The Gators will honor their lone senior in conjunction with Senior Day, Taylor Gillespie (Cobleskill, NY/Cobleskill Richmondville).
