Hilton, NY – Russell Sage College's women's tennis team rookie Maddie Cherry (Las Vegas, NV/Odyssey Charter) earned her second straight citation as the Empire 8 Women's Tennis Player of the Week on September 27.

Cherry had another banner week as she went 2-0 in singles and doubles action for the Gators playing at first singles and first doubles. On the week, she lost just one game in singles play and is now 6-0 at No. 1 singles with a perfect 3-0 mark in conference play.

Playing at No. 1 doubles with senior Taylor Gillespie (Cobleskill, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville), the Gator duo boasts a 4-0 record with one another.

The Gators are back in action on September 27 on the road at Mt. St. Mary College in a 5 p.m. non-conference road match.
