Latham, NY – Russell Sage College's women's tennis team wrapped the busy week hosting Alfred University in an Empire 8 contest on Sunday. The match, which was held at Tri-City Tennis Facility, saw the Saxons collect a 7-2 win. Alfred improves to 2-6 overall and 1-2 in the Empire 8. RSC is now 0-6 overall and 0-3 in the league.

RSC's rookie Maddie Cherry (Las Vegas, NV/Odyssey Charter) continues her perfect streak on the fall is now 6-0 at No. 1 singles.  She beat Alfred's Anna Gqozdz, 6-0,6-1. Cherry stands at 6-0 this fall in singles play.  She teamed at No. 1 doubles with senior Taylor Gillespie (Cobleskill, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) for an 8-0 win over Macy Youngberg and Lauren Boshart. The Gator duo boasts a 4-0 record with one another.

The Gators are back in action on September 27 on the road at Mt. St. Mary College in a 5 p.m.non-conference road match.
