Oswego, NY –  Russell Sage College's women's tennis team traveled to Oswego State for a non-conference match on Sunday afternoon. The host Lakers posted a 6-3 win to move to 2-6, while RSC is now 0-4 on the year.

RSC's rookie Maddie Cherry (Las Vegas, NV/Odyssey Charter) continues her perfect streak on the fall is now 4-0 at No. 1 singles.  She beat Oswego's Miryam Makutonin, 6-0, 6-0.  She teamed at No. 1 doubles with senior Taylor Gillespie (Cobleskill, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) for an 8-6win over Makutonin and Alyx Sperling.  Rookie Gwen Eichen (Moriah, NY/Moriah Central) recorded her first career singles win as she was victorious at No. 4singles, beating Jenna Wilson, 6-4, 6-4.

The Gators are back in action on September 23 traveling to Mt. St. Mary College for a 4:30 p.m. contest on Thursday.
