Utica, NY –  Utica College hosted the Gators of Russell Sage College in a non-conference match held on Wednesday. The Pioneers tallied the 5-4 win to move to 1-1 on the year, while the Gators stand at 0-2.

RSC's rookie Maddie Cherry (Las Vegas, NV/Odyssey Charter) picked up a win at No. 1 singles, beating Utica's Ellen Lyga, 6-1, 6-1. She stands at 2-0 on the young season in singles play. She teamed at No. 1 doubles with her sister Kenedy Cherry (Las Vegas, NV/Odyssey Charter) for an 8-6 win over Lyga and Morgan Willis.

The Gators are back in action on September 18 hosting Houghton College in a 1p.m. Empire 8 match to be held at Tri-City Tennis and Fitness Center in Latham,NY.
