Rutland, VT—The Sage Colleges' women's tennis team travelled to Castleton University for a non-conference match on Thursday. The Spartans earned the 6-3 win over Sage to improve to 3-7. Sage falls to 5-6.

In doubles play, Sage's point came from the play of juniors Julia Geisel (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and Rebecca Jackson (Saugerties, NY/John A. Coleman) collected an 8-4 win, upping the Gator duo's record to 8-2 with one another.

In singles action, Geisel posted a 6-2, 6-1 win at fourth singles as she is now 5-3 on the year. Junior Sadie Dunne (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) picked up a win at No. 3 singles winning, 6-3, 6-1.

Sage is back in action on October 6 hosting Stevens in a 1 p.m. Empire 8 match on Saturday to be held at the Albany Academy Tennis Courts.
