Albany, NY—The Sage Colleges' women's tennis team hosted the Saxons of Alfred University in an Empire 8 match on Friday afternoon. Alfred picked up the 7-2 win to remain unbeaten in the league. The Saxons are now 5-3 overall and 3-0 in the Empire 8. Sage drops to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in the league.

Sage took second doubles as juniors Julia Geisel (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and Rebecca Jackson (Saugerties, NY/John A. Coleman) earned an 8-4 win at and remain perfect with one another in doubles play as they are now 6-0.

Geisel added the singles win at the No. 4 spot besting her opponent Nurila Kambar, 6-1, 7-5 for the lone singles win.

Sage is back in action on September 22 hosting St. John Fisher College in an Empire 8 match at Albany Academy at 1 p.m. Alfred University will travel to Stevens for a Noon Empire 8 match on Saturday  in Hoboken, NJ.
