Utica, NY—The Sage Colleges' women's tennis team traveled to Utica College on Tuesday afternoon for an Empire 8 match. The Gators triumphed 8-1 to improve to 4-1 overall and now stand at 2-1 in the Empire 8. Utica drops to 0-6 overall and 0-4 in the league.

Sage took a 3-0 lead after winning all three doubles matches. Sage's juniors Sadie Dunne (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and co-captain Abbey Clobridge (West Sand Lakes, NY/Averill Park) posted an 8-5 win at first doubles. With Tuesday's win, the duo of Dunne and Clobridge are off to a 4-1 start on the season. Sage's juniors Julia Geisel (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and Rebecca Jackson (Saugerties, NY/John A. Coleman) earned an 8-4 win at second doubles and are a perfect 5-0 together on the season.

At fourth singles, Geisel was a 6-0, 6-0 winner and is now 3-0 on the year.

Sage is back in action on September 21 hosting Alfred University at Albany Academy's Tennis Facility at 3:30 p.m. in an Empire 8 match.
