SAGE WOMEN'S TENNIS TEAM MAKES IT FOUR IN A ROW WITH EMPIRE 8 WIN OVER HARTWICK
Troy, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's tennis team hosted the Hawks of Hartwick College on Tuesday afternoon in an Empire 8 match. The Gators racked up a 5-4 win to run their win streak to four matches. The Gators are now 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the Empire 8. Hartwick drops to 4-3 overall and 2-2.
For the second time in three matches, sophomore Rebecca Jackson (Saugerties, NY/John A. Coleman) added the decisive win as she posted a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles pushing the Gators past Hartwick.
Sage sophomore Sammantha Montague (Glenville, NY/Scotia-Glenville) dropped her first singles match of the season as she lost to Hartwick's Heidi Rice, 7-5, 6-2.
Senior Lindsey Tolman (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) and Allison Trudo (West Chazy, NY/Beekmantown) added singles wins for the Gators, while Tolman and rookie Molly Cochrane (Ravena, NY/Ravena-Coeymans) added a win at No. 3 doubles to lead the Gators.
Next up for the Gators, they will host MCLA on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Prospect Park as they look to extend their win streak to five matches.
