Troy, NY— The Sage College's women's tennis team hosted the Broncos of SUNY-Delhi on Wednesday afternoon at Prospect Park and tallied an 8-1 win.

Sage's rookie Sammantha Montague (Glenville, NY/Glenville-Scotia) recorded a pair of wins as she was victorious at first singles and teamed at first doubles with classmate Abbey Clobridge (West Sand Lake, NY/Averill Park) to win, 8-4. In doubles, the Gators' top duo beat Lennon and senior Monica Benitez (Brooklyn, NY/East NY Family Academy).

Montague beat SUNY-Delhi's junior Kathleen Lennon (Sidney, NY/Sidney), 6-0, 6-0. Clobridge, who played at No. 4 singles was a winner, beating junior Rani Samurdrala (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy), 6-0, 6-1.

Sage's twin sisters, junior Shanessa and Shanice Mendoza (North Plainfield, NJ/North Plainfield) added wins at No. 3 and No. 5 singles, while Shanessa teamed at No. 2 doubles with graduate student Melissa Estremera (Millbrook, NY/Millbrook) to post an 8-2 win at second doubles. Estremera added a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles over Benitez.

Sage returns to action on September 10 hosting St. Joseph's College-LI in the 2016 Skyline Conference opener at Prospect Park at 1 p.m.
