Oneonta, NY – The Sage Colleges' women's tennis team travelled to Hartwick College on Tuesday afternoon for a non-conference match. The host Hawks recorded a 7-2 win to improve to 1-0 on the season. The loss puts Sage at 1-1 on the year.

Sage's junior Kirsten Ackerman (Rensselear, NY/Guilderland) was a double winner as she posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Ruthie Jones at No. 1 singles. She teamed at No. 1 doubles with senior Nicole Riley (Catskill, NY/Catskill) for an 8-5 win.  Ackerman is now 15-0 lifetime at Sage in dual match singles play and 16-1 overall in singles as a Gator after garnering Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year honors last fall.
