Houghton Holds Off RSC

HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Russell Sage College was edged 1-0 this afternoon at Houghton.

Junior forward Natalie Milne scored the lone goal of the Saturday Empire 8 Conference matinee in the 11th minute. Freshman midfielder Taylor Curyto recorded the assist.

Down relatively early, the Gators (5-3-2/2-1-1 E8) statistically controlled the matinee in their attempt for an equalizer. RSC out-shot the Highlanders (4-6-1/2-2-0 E8) 17-6, including 7-2 for shots on goal, and held a 7-4 advantage on corner kicks.

Houghton junior goalkeeper Alliah Fluent (Win, 3-6-1) was up to the challenge, making seven saves.

This afternoon kicked off a stretch of four consecutive road games for RSC. The run continues on Wednesday night at Utica.
