ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College sophomore defender Courtney Bush (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) was selected the Empire 8 Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, September 10.

Bush, a second-team All-Conference pick as a rookie, netted the lone goal of Sunday's 1-0 win vs. Eastern Connecticut State.  She helped the Gators allow just six ECSU shots, only one of which was on-goal, to earn the clean sheet.

RSC (2-1-0) continues its run of four-straight home games on Wednesday at 6:00 pm vs. SUNY Poly.

Notes: Coming off a trip to the Empire 8 Conference Tournament Semifinals, more than 20 players and four all-league selections returned this fall…Senior forward Kennedy Jones (Albany, NY/Albany), was selected the E8 Player of the Week for the period ending Monday, September 4…The second-team All-E8 pick registered two goals and an assist to help RSC win its home opener vs. Nichols on September 2…Jones, Bush senior forward Marissa Key (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury), and junior defender Amelia Geesler (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central) headline the returnees.
