ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College capped the non-conference portion of their regular season slate with this afternoon's 4-0 loss at Vassar.
The Brewers blitzed the visiting Gators (4-6-1), netting two goals across the opening 12:52. Vassar (6-3-2) held advantages of 30-2 on shots, and 6-0 on corner kicks across the 90 minutes.
Sophomore goalkeeper Kierstin Lynch (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) (Loss, 0-4-1) recorded double-digit saves for the third time as a Gator, stopping 12 Vassar shots on goal.
Looking ahead, the Gators, off to a 3-0-0 start in the Empire 8 Conference, host St. John Fisher on Sunday afternoon. The 12:00 pm E8 contest will also serve as the program's "Senior Day".
Notes: The Gators returned 12 players from last season…Forward Natalie Ricci (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes), a graduate student, headlines the dozen…The team captain ranks in the top-ten in school history for career points and career goals…Junior forward Marissa Key (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury), who registered nine points last season, and all three goalkeepers are also back.
