Gators Start Road Trip with 3-1 Setback at Nichols

DUDLEY, Mass. – Russell Sage College began a stretch of three-straight road games by falling at Nichols 3-1 this afternoon.

The Bison (4-3-1) scored twice in a 3:03 span late in the first half to hold a 3-0 lead at the break.

Sophomore defender Amelia Geesler (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central) netted the lone RSC goal in the 61st minute, while sophomore goalkeeper Kierstin Lynch (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) (Loss, 0-3-1) made 14 saves.

Sophomore midfielder Natalie Gray recorded a goal and an assist to pace Nichols, while sophomore Adie Hughes (Win, 2-2-0) and freshman Saige Frazier combined to stop five Gator shots.

Looking ahead, RSC (3-5-1) returns to Empire 8 Conference play on Saturday afternoon at Keuka. The matinee is set to start at 3:00 pm


Notes: The Gators return 12 players from last season…Forward Natalie Ricci (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes), a graduate student, headlines the dozen…The team captain began the fall ranked 11th in program records with 53 career points…Junior forward Marissa Key (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury), who registered nine points last season, and all three goalkeepers are also back.
