Gators stumble at Skidmore

Saratoga Springs, NY — Russell Sage College women's soccer team traveled to Skidmore College for a non-conference contest with the Thoroughbreds. Skidmore tallied a 3-0 win to move 3-1 on the year, while the setback puts the Gators at 2-2-1.

Skidmore led 1-0 at the half as Kyra Russman-Araya scored the first goal of the match at 38:51. Skidmore added to the scoring output as Vanessa Eljaiek scored on a feed from Carly Craft in the opening minutes of the second half as she scored at the 46:55 mark. Isabella Nevin scored the final goal on a penalty kick at 56:58.

Senior Mickaela Buzzy (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) recorded eight saves in the contest as she drops to 0-2-1 on the year. Skidmore's Claire Wolgast and Ava Keller combined for six saves and the shutout win.

RSC is back in action on September 18 travelling to Elmira College for the team's 2021 Empire 8 opener as they look to defend their championship title from last season. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.
