RSC Women's Soccer Plays to a 1-1 OT Tie with Hawks

New Paltz, NY — Russell Sage College women's soccer team travelled to SUNY-New Paltz for a non-conference match on Saturday afternoon. The Gators and the Hawks played to a 1-1 double overtime tie. RSC is now 1-0-1, while New Paltz stands at 0-0-1.

RSC's senior forward Natalie Ricci (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) scored her seconds goal of the season in as many matches as she put the Gators on the scoreboard first with a score at 10:07.  Leading 1-0 at the half, RSC found the match tied at the 49:34 mark as Rachel Eisert scored on a pass from Siena Diaz-Colon. The two teams played to a score deadlock after 90 minutes and then played two overtime period before the match ended as a 1-1 tie.

Ricci now has 16 career goals in her 21 career matches played and is currently 15th in career goals, while boasting 37 career points.

RSC's senior goalie Mickaela Buzzy (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) made eight saves in 110 minutes of work. New Paltz got seven saves from Kura Russo in the contest. Buzzy now has 91 career saves in 15 matched in 1052 minutes of work.

RSC is back in action on September 5 hosting SUNY Plattsburg in a 3 p.m. non-conference match-up.
